Lynda P. Papale, MS, CCC-SLP

Lynda Papale graduated with a B.A. from the University of Connecticut with a Major in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Minor in Psychology & Education. She received her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State College, and completed 6th year course work in Counseling & Guidance in Speech Pathology & Audiology. Lynda is a Speech/Language Pathologist holding Florida State Licensure and The Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association. She is Hanen Certified in the “It Takes Two to Talk” program, a parent training program for parents of children under age five who have language delay.

While in Connecticut, Lynda worked as an SLP at a residential school for children with emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as developmental disabilities. She has worked for Easter Seals and Newington Children’s Hospital, as well as for inner-city Head Start and Public School programs in Connecticut.

After moving to Florida, Lynda was the Chief Speech/Language Pathologist at the S. Allen Smith Clinic where her primary responsibilities were providing Speech and Language Diagnostic Evaluations and therapy as well as supervising the SLP clinical staff. Lynda has been with the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center for fourteen years, where she participated in a University of Florida Healthy School Readiness Grant Program providing Speech, Language & Hearing screenings to at-risk children in daycare programs. She has also provided screenings in private preschool settings and assisted with supervising SLP graduate externs, as well as writing, implementing and collaborating on Grant programs. Lynda presently provides Diagnostic Evaluations and Speech & Language treatment services in Center.

Fun Facts: Lynda enjoys traveling with family, and following golf tournaments with her husband and sons. Her creative passions include cooking, baking, and  party planning. She also designs and creates therapy materials and customized party favors.

Dorothy Bourgeois, MA, CCC-SLP

Dot Bourgeois is a licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist who has been providing speech and language therapy to children ages 2-18 in Florida since 2008. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Jacksonville University.

Dot is the Clinical Manager of the Speech Department and mentors current and future SLPs.

Fun Fact: While attending The University of Florida, Dot was a member of the University of Florida Fighting Gator Marching Band and performed at basketball and football games.

Melissa Vincent, MS, CCC-SLP

Melissa Vincent joined the JSHC Team in June 2020 after 6 years of servicing students in public schools. These students ranged from Pre-K to age 22 with varying exceptionalities, including medically fragile students. Currently, Melissa focuses on early intervention, articulation and language for children. She also specializes in the area of dyslexia as a consultant, screener, and tutor, using the Barton Tutoring Program.

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida before receiving a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University.

In 2024, Melissa received the prestigious Ace Award from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)  given to professionals who have shown their dedication to lifelong learning and commitment to staying current on evidence-based practices.  Melissa has earned 7.0 ASHA CEUs (70 hours of Continuing Education Units) within a 36-month period.

Fun Facts: Melissa loves spending time with her family. She enjoys baseball, going to craft/vintage festivals, and traveling. She loves cupcakes (gluten free, of course!), prefers tea over coffee, and always has a book with her.

She finds joy in arts and crafts, as well as creating therapy materials.

Lia Richardson, MS, CF-SLP

Lia started at JSHC as the Front Desk Associate in April 2015, and served as Referrals Coordinator from April 2016 until December 2019. In January 2020 she started as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, helping to provide speech therapy services alongside our Speech-Language Pathologists. Lia currently serves as a Speech-Language Pathologist- Clinical Fellow. She has a Bachelors in Health Administration from the University of North Florida and a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida.

In December of 2023 she graduated from NYU earning her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. She is excited to continue providing speech and language therapy to our community.

Fun Fact: Lia enjoys hanging out with her chihuahua, cooking, tending to her indoor garden, doing pottery and DIY projects around the house.

Christine Ruiz-Cuomo, SLP-A

Christine started with JSHC in October of 2022 after becoming a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant earlier that year.   She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Biological Health Sciences.  Christine was previously a licensed pharmacy technician.  While going to school to pursue a career in pharmacology she was introduced to communication sciences and she discovered her passion for children with speech-language disorders.  She hopes to go back to school and obtain her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology.

Christine is also the Speech Team Clinic Manager.

Fun Fact: Christine is a Jacksonville, FL native and though she’s not fluent in ASL, she can knows enough to hold a conversation.

Kelley D’Angelo, MS, CCC-SLP

Kelley D’Angelo is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up she also lived in San Diego, California and Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of Central Florida, and earned a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Kelley is a licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist who is excited to provide speech and language therapy to all who need it.

Fun Fact: Kelley has a twin brother and two cats, Emmy and Libby. She loves the television show “Friends”, and is a big fan of Taylor Swift and The Beatles. She enjoys working out and going to the movies.

Devin Tackett

Devin joined JSHC in June 2022 as a Front Desk Coordinator and is currently the Office Manager of the Speech Department. She has since gotten her Speech Language Pathology Assistant and Audiology Assistant licenses. She is currently enrolled in FSU’s SLP graduate program and takes classes part-time. She is a Jacksonville native and received her bachelor’s degree from UNF.

Fun Fact: Devin loves to ski and tries to go every winter. She also loves spending time outside. She is a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and tries to go to as many games as possible!

Rebekah Cicero, MS, CCC-SLP

Rebekah joined the JSHC Team in June 2023 after completing her externship at JSHC. Rebekah was with Duval County Schools as a kindergarten and third grade classroom teacher. She specializes in school age language intervention. Rebekah graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida, before receiving a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Jacksonville University.

Fun Fact: Rebekah is a Jacksonville native born at the same hospital as her father. She loves spending time with her family including her husband, two daughters, and her two cats. She also loves swimming in the pool and going to the beach.

Moriah Douglas, MS, CF-SLP

Moriah initially joined the JSHC Team as an SLP-A in September 2023, after previously serving as a graduate intern during the Summer. She now joins us a Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Fellow as she recently graduated from the University of St. Augustine with her Master’s Degree of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

She has a passion for working with developmentally delayed children, adults with acquired language disorders, and has a particular interest in supporting post-stroke patients.

In addition, Moriah graduated with her BS in Athletic Training in 2017 from the University of West Florida. In 2022, she graduated with her BS in Speech and Hearing Sciences, from the University of South Alabama.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Moriah enjoys getting up early to watch the sun rise, taking nature walks with her rescue dog, Drayko and reading.

Madison Grosse, B.S., SLP-A

Madison joined the JSHC team in January of 2024 after receiving her SLP-A license back in August of 2023. She has experience working with early intervention and school age children and loves watching them flourish in their speech and language development. Madison graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida. She plans to attend graduate school in Georgia after a couple of years working as an SLP-A.

Fun Fact: Madison loves all things crafty from painting, to scrapbooking, to rhinstoning random objects. She loves all things that are sparkly and glittery and will never turn down a chance to go shopping. When Madison is not at work, she is spending time with her wonderful, goofy dog, Tucker.

Ashley Fana, BA, SLP-A

Ashley joined the JSHC Team in July 2024 after working at an ENT office as an Audiologist Assistant.

Ashley graduated with an Associate’s Degree from the Miami-Dade Community College before receiving a Bachelor’s Degree, in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. She also has her certifications as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and Audiologist Assistant

Fun Fact: Ashley enjoys eating a variety of foods and all things chocolate. I am a proud parent of a beautiful baby girl and cat named Keanu.
